About Language Builder®
The Language Builder from Stages App is based on the Language Builder Picture Noun Cards, Sets 1 & 2, which are used by BCBA’s, SLP’s Teachers and Parents to teach basic language skills to children with autism or related developmental challenges. Version 1.2 upgrade is now available for download for Basic and Pro. And, we now have a new FREE version so you can try before you buy!
The Language Builder® from Stages App is based on the Language Builder Picture Noun Cards, Sets 1 & 2. Used by BCBAs, SLP’s, Teachers and Parents to teach basic language skills to children with autism, speech language delay or special needs, the app includes 6 ABA-based activities with customizable presentations. All of the images in the Language Builder from Stages APP are taken directly from the top selling Language Builder Picture Cards which you have come to rely on daily.
Highly customizable settings allow you to choose from multiple speech and text commands, card positions, prompts and prompt fading, target and distractor words, reinforcers, and more.
The Basic Language Builder® from Stages app includes 90 Basic Stage images, with 500+ words available for purchase by category. Language Builder Pro comes complete with all 600+ words, including Animals, Foods, Transportation, Furniture, Clothing, Toys, Everyday Objects, Insects, Sea Life, Musical Instruments, Tools, Body Parts, Safety Sign, Shapes and Colors.
The most recent release of the Language Builder® from Stages app allows you to create unlimited users so you can save the settings for each of your students and a reporting feature to track student progress. The Pro version of the app also lets you create your own custom flashcards to use with the app's ABA based activities.

The general settings will allow you to set the volume for the audio function on the app. Use this to set the volume for all activities. You will be able to access the About section and the Help menu from the general settings.
On the left hand side of the Settings screen is a list of the 6 activities for which you can choose settings. The setting choices vary a bit for each activity. Details for each of the activity settings are found under the activity descriptions. The video to the right gives a good overview of how the settings function.
The photos are what you would expect from Language Builder—Colorful, realistic and varied.
I really like the fact that we have the option of controlling the reinforcement. I have had kids in the past who are motivated by the negative reaction, so it's a great feature!
